On the Move Again, we really never stopped

Sailing Ventolines is back sailing again. We took the Hurricane season to do land based travel in the United States. This included driving from South Carolina to South Dakota and Wyoming to visit friends and National Parks. We hit some of the big places: Devils Tower, Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons National Park. We also hit every touristy place we could find along the way.

It was a great time traveling by means other than a sailboat. But I have to say, I prefer the boat to the RV. On the boat, especially off shore, one can let the boat handle it self for long periods of time. On the highway its constant tension and vigilance. While the experiences are similar, the boat tends to be easier and more relaxed.

Anyway, we are on the move. We left Brunswick and went to St Mary’s Boat Services to get a bottom job done. Then we headed south down the ICW until we got to West Palm. There we went offshore to Miami, arriving at night. We followed our former track in Aquamap right back to our favorite Virginia Key anchorage.

We didn’t stay long since we were craving Key Lime Pie from Mrs Mac’s in Key Largo. Which is the absolute best Key Lime Pie on the planet, bar none. If someone tells you otherwise, never speak to them again. The BEST.

After a week in Key Largo, we headed to back to the Miami area to stage at Noname harbor anchorage to cross to the Bahamas. Which is where we are right now. Bimini is not large and you likely just need a couple of days to see it all. But it is significant for us. We are back “out there” and across the Gulf Stream. Now we can begin working our way south through the Bahamas and hopefully on to other places between here and Grenada.
